Protesters gathered outside Sofia's Palace of Justice on Friday, calling for zero immigration, tighter security measures and strict controls on foreign nationals in Bulgaria. The protest was organized by VMRO's Angel Dzhambazki under the slogan "No to Migrant Crime! Security for Bulgarians!" Sofia Municipality had been notified of the demonstration.

The protest was prompted by the stabbing of two young men near the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in Sofia on October 17, 2026. The suspect, Syrian national Mahmud Muhamad, was arrested in Plovdiv on October 20. On Thursday, the Sofia District Court ordered him to remain in custody.

Dzhambazki said Bulgaria must not be allowed to become a third-world country flooded with migrants and people seeking to change Bulgarians' way of life.

The protesters marched from the Palace of Justice to the lion monument outside the NDK. They chanted "Bulgaria for Bulgarians, Refugees Out!" and "Heart and Soul for Bulgaria!" and unfurled a banner reading "Justice".
