Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the Consultative Council for National Security on Wednesday, Stanislav Anastasov MP of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) said that four parties, including the MRF, opposed the statement that was read, which under the Council’s internal rules means that it did not receive support. ”The issue on which there was no consensus was who the aggressor is, and that is perfectly clear,” he added.
Wednesday's meeting was convened after two merchant vessels were attacked by sea and air drones in Bulgaria’s exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea.
Anastasov said that, regarding the two attacked vessels, the Government has enough information to identify who was responsible and it should be the Government that makes this information public. “It is befitting of Bulgaria, as a respected member of NATO and the European Union, for the Government to come out and openly disclose this information, because Bulgarian citizens want an answer. They are the ones who can provide the answers,” Anastasov said.
He added that during the Council meeting they had learned who was responsible for the incident.
