Three judges were nominated for election to the Supreme Judicial Council from the judges’ quota, the SJC press service said on Friday. They are Sofia City Court Judge Krasimir Mazgalov, Sofia Appellate Court Judge Vladimir Valkov and Plovdiv District Court Deputy Chair Vesela Evstatieva.

The SJC registry will be open on September 5, 6 and 7, 2026, a Saturday, Sunday and Monday, to receive documents related to the election of SJC members by judges, prosecutors and investigating magistrates.

The deadline for nominations for SJC members from the judicial quota is September 6, 2026.

Candidates for SJC membership from the prosecutorial quota must submit their documents by September 7, 2026.
