site.btaDanube Level Falls Slightly in Bulgarian Section over Past Day, Situation Remains Challenging

A slight drop in the water level of the Danube was recorded over the past 24 hours at gauging stations near Ruse, Silistra, Novo Selo, Lom and Oryahovo, the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River (EAEMDR) said on Tuesday morning.

The water level at Ruse was 124 cm below the reference zero level. No change in the level was recorded at the gauging stations in Nikopol and Svishtov.

According to the River Supervision Directorate in Ruse, no new vessels ran aground either within or outside the shipping channel over the past 24 hours.

"The hydrological situation remains challenging. All restrictions on vessel draught remain in force along the entire [Bulgarian] stretch of the river," the EAEMDR said. The forecast for the next two days is for no change in the river level at Ruse.
