site.btaSolid Fuels Record Largest Increase in Energy Product Production in May, M/M

In May compared with April, the largest increase in the production of energy products was recorded for solid fuels, up 33.7%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Thursday. The largest decrease was recorded for electricity, down 18.7%. In the deliveries of energy products, the largest increase was observed for diesel fuel, up 41.3%. The largest decrease was recorded for natural gas, down 12.1%.

Compared with April, production of solid fuels rose by 33.7% to 834,000 tonnes, while diesel fuel output increased by 2.8% to 253,000 tonnes. Electricity production fell by 18.7% to 3,057 GWh, and motor gasoline output went down by 0.8% to 127,000 tonnes. Production of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) was unchanged.

On an annual basis, compared with May 2025, production of motor gasoline increased by 28.3%, diesel fuel by 27.8%, solid fuels by 24.9%, and electricity by 18.3%. Output of LPG declined by 22.2%.

Diesel fuel deliveries rose by 41.3% to 236,000 tonnes, followed by solid fuels, up 29.6% to 884,000 tonnes. Deliveries of LPG increased 14.3% to 32,000 tonnes, while motor gasoline deliveries rose 7.4% to 58,000 tonnes.

Natural gas deliveries fell by 12.1% to 217 million cubic metres. Electricity deliveries decreased by 7.7% to 2,554 GWh.

Compared with May 2025, deliveries of solid fuels increased by 26.5%, natural gas by 20.6%, and electricity by 6.1%, the NSI said.
