Meeting with the newly elected Grand Mufti of Muslims in Bulgaria, Ahmed Hasanov, on Thursday, Prime Minister Rumen Radev said that Bulgaria is an example of tolerance, mutual respect and understanding among religious communities, and the Grand Mufti's Office has made an active contribution to this, the government press service reported.

The Prime Minister noted that the strong foundations of traditional Islam and the shared values of Muslims and Christians, who live together peacefully in Bulgaria, are at the heart of the good relations between the country's religious communities.

Hasanov said that under his leadership, the Grand Mufti's Office will continue to strengthen these values and encourage young people to embrace respect and virtue.

The meeting also covered the preservation of cultural and historical monuments of great importance to Bulgarian society, the accreditation of the Higher Islamic Institute as a pillar of education in the values of traditional Islam, and the provision of spiritual support to young people amid what was described as a moral crisis.
