- 1869: Bulgarian Literary Society (since 1911: Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) founded in Braila, Romania.
- 1884: Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia conclude customs convention on duty-free import of staple local goods.
- 1916: French Farman F-42 sent to bomb Sofia is downed during World War I (1914-1918). First victory for Bulgarian air force.
- 1918: Armistice between Bulgaria and the Entente Powers signed in Thessaloniki.
- 1992: United Bulgarian Bank founded.
- 2003: Bulgaria launches e-government.
