Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova will host an Annual Conference with the participation of the heads of Bulgaria's foreign missions on Monday, the Foreign Ministry's press office reported. The forum will commence at the InterContinental Sofia Hotel at 9 a.m.
President Iliana Iotova and Prime Minister Rumen Radev are scheduled to attend the conference.
Bulgaria marked Diplomatic Service Day on Sunday commemorating the establishment of the country's first foreign policy administration by Decree No. 1 of Prince Alexander I of Battenberg on July 19, 1879, the Foreign Ministry said on its website.
July 19 was officially designated as Bulgarian Diplomatic Service Day by then Foreign Minister Nadezhda Mihaylova through a resolution dated April 21, 1999.
Bulgaria's first diplomatic agents were Dragan Tsankov, Evlogi Georgiev and Dimitar Kirov, while Konstantin Stoilov was appointed to St Petersburg in 1883.
