site.btaPM Radev Discusses Expanding Energy, Defence Cooperation with Czech Counterpart Babis

Prime Minister Rumen Radev discussed with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis the potential for expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of defence and energy. The two sides conferred in Ankara within the framework of the NATO Summit, the government's press service reported on Wednesday.

The consequences of the war in Ukraine for European countries, energy diversification in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as topics from the agenda of bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Czechia, were also among the highlights of the meeting.

The leaders of NATO countries will meet on Wednesday to discuss the state of the defence alliance. 32 state leaders and over 100 ministers arrived in Ankara for the Summit. Among them is US President Donald Trump. The Bulgarian delegation, headed by Prime Minister Radev, also includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova, Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov, and Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov.
