Bulgaria and Turkiye will work together with the European Commission to develop the Middle Corridor between Asia and Europe as confirmed in a telephone conversation by the Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Peev and the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkiye Abdulkadir Uraloglu.

"At a meeting last week with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Cos, we shared a common view that the two countries are in a strategic position for the real use of the Middle Corridor as additional logistical connectivity," said Minister Peev.

The two sides discussed road and rail alternatives for transporting goods in the region.

"Turkiye is a strategic partner and Bulgaria's largest neighbour, therefore it is important to maintain consistent dialogue and coordination," said Minister Peev.
