Former heavyweight world champion and Olympic gold medallist Wladimir Klitschko arrived in Bulgaria on Monday. He was welcomed at Vasil Levski Airport in Sofia by Bulgarian Boxing Federation Chair Krasimir Ininski.

Klitschko is visiting Sofia at Ininski's invitation. During his stay, he is scheduled to meet Youth and Sports Minister Encho Keryazov, Bulgarian Olympic Committee President Vesela Lecheva and Sofia Mayor Vassil Terziev.

The Ukrainian boxing legend is visiting in connection with the upcoming 2026 European Men's and Women's Boxing Championships, which will be held at Asics Arena in Sofia from September 15 to 26.
