Continue the Change Floor Leader Nikolay Denkov stated in a declaration, read on behalf of the parliamentary group from the parliamentary rostrum on Wednesday, that the arson attack on the diplomatic vehicles of the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje is, under any circumstances, a provocation. It is the work of forces within North Macedonia that seek to obstruct the country's European integration.

According to Denkov, the Western Balkans currently present two distinct approaches among the countries of the region. On the one hand, there are Montenegro and Albania, which have firmly committed themselves to the reforms necessary to advance their EU accession negotiations. On the other hand, countries such as North Macedonia and Serbia appear more focused on finding reasons to avoid implementing these reforms than on genuinely pursuing their European path, he said.

“I have no doubt that Bulgaria's political interest lies in seeing all countries of the Western Balkans become members of the European Union. However, this should happen only after they have fulfilled the commitments they have undertaken. As an EU member state, Bulgaria must demonstrate how such provocations should be met, with firmness, composure, and confidence,” Denkov said.

“I am pleased that in recent months the way we have discussed these provocations in the National Assembly has shown that we are capable of standing united,” he added.
