site.btaDay 2 of Green Transition Forum 6.0 to Feature Discussions on Competitiveness, Defence and EU Enlargement

Competitiveness, defence and strategic autonomy, small and medium-sized enterprises, EU enlargement and the Western Balkans will be among the topics in focus on the second day of Green Transition Forum 6.0, which will take place at Sofia Event Center on Tuesday. Participants in the forum are expected to be welcomed by National Assembly Chair Mihaela Dotsova.

Among those invited to take part in the discussion are Labour and Social Policy Minister Nataliya Efremova; Zornitsa Roussinova, President of Bulgaria’s Economic and Social Council; and Yordanka Chobanova, Head of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria, according to the event programme.

The forum is organised by Dir.bg in cooperation with the Bulgarian-Greek Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

A high-level discussion during Tuesday's forum on the topic “Global Risks and Barriers to Europe’s Competitiveness” is expected to feature Iliyana Tsanova, Chief Risk Officer at the European Commission; Progressive Bulgaria Floor Leader Petar Vitanov; Adriana Sukova, Deputy Director-General of the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion at the European Commission; and Ivan Mihaylov, Chief Executive Officer of AmCham Bulgaria.

Among the other discussions will be “Building a European Defence and Security Union”, where invited participants include Tonino Picula, member of the AFET Committee of the European Parliament, and Yordan Bozhilov, founder and Director of the Sofia Security Forum. The discussion “Dual-Use Industry - Connecting Civilian and Defence Technologies to Enhance Resilience and Competitiveness” is expected to include Borislav Bankov, Head of the NATO's Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) Test Centre at GATE Institute; Dobroslav Dimitrov, co-founder of Raisen Technology, member of the Advisory Board of BASCOM and member of the Advisory Board of BRAIT; Svilen Rangelov, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dronamics; Gregory Lipich, Chief Commercial Officer of FIXAR; and Colonel Anton Bankov, Deputy Commandant for Administration and Logistics at the Rakovski National Defence College.

Other discussion topics will include “Competitiveness in a Changing Economy - How to Help SMEs Grow, Innovate and Remain Resilient”, “Cybersecurity and Digital Infrastructure in an Era of Constant Turbulence - Views from Institutions and Industry Leaders”, and “EU Enlargement and the Western Balkans - Convergence, Connectivity and Climate-Resilient Growth”, according to the programme.
