1923: Military Maritime Museum opens in the seaside city of Varna, under the name of the Maritime Museum.

1992: Diplomatic relations established with Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan.

2006: Second World Meeting of Bulgarian Media takes place in Chicago, USA.           

2007: First elections held for Bulgarian Members of the European Parliament.
