Nine New Progressive Bulgaria MPs Sworn into Office

Nine new members of parliament from Progressive Bulgaria took their oath at the beginning of the parliamentary sitting here on Wednesday. They are filling the seats of those elected, respectively, as Prime Minister and ministers in Bulgaria’s new regular government.

National Assembly Chair Mihaela Dotsova congratulated the newly sworn-in MPs and wished everyone "productive work in the interest of the public".

On May 8, Parliament elected Rumen Radev of Progressive Bulgaria as Prime Minister and approved his proposed cabinet, which then took its oath. Later, the new regular government officially took office at a ceremony in the Council of Ministers.

Aleksandra Pavlova Angelakova from the list of Sofia’s 25th Multi-Member Constituency (MMC) enters Parliament, replacing Rumen Georgiev Radev for the period during which he serves as Prime Minister.

Vaska Aleksandrova Milusheva from the 13th MMC – Pazardzhik takes the seat of Galab Spasov Donev for the period during which he serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.

Momchil Bonchev Petrov from the 27th MMC – Stara Zagora replaces Alexander Georgiev Poulev for the period during which he serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investment and Industry.

Emine Fikri Gyulestan from the 9th MMC – Kardzhali takes the seat of Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev for the period during which he serves as Minister of Interior.

Tefik Ahmed Parafitov from the 29th MMC – Haskovo enters in place of Dimitar Zhelyazkov Stoyanov for the period during which he serves as Minister of Defence.

Stela Nikolaeva Ilieva from the 6th MMC – Vratsa takes the seat of Ivan Dimitrov Shishkov for the period during which he serves as Minister of Regional Development and Public Works.

Georgi Valeriev Kunchev from the 1st MMC – Blagoevgrad enters in place of Rositsa Atanasova Karamfilova-Blagova for the period during which she serves as Minister of Environment and Water.

Yulian Georgiev Dimitrov from the 3rd MMC – Varna takes the seat of Ilin Pavlinov Dimitrov for the period during which he serves as Minister of Tourism.

Mirena Nikolaeva Gugleva-Ivanova from the 31st MMC – Yambol enters in place of Encho Angelov Keryazov for the period during which he serves as Minister of Youth and Sports.
