Sofia Mayor Vassil Terziev Sunday thanked everyone who made it possible to hold the Giro D'Italia in Bulgaria.

"Let this be one of the many examples of how we can work together to be able to show Bulgaria to the whole world in the best possible colours," Terziev said, before welcoming the participants of Stage 3 of the Giro d'Italia in Sofia.

"Regardless of party or government, thanks to everyone who made the impossible happen. We managed to fight for this race to happen, and today we can all welcome the competitors in pink," the mayor pointed out, adding that over 5,000 Sofia residents and guests took part in the Sofia Rides Giro cycling event as well.
