site.btaParliament Sets Up Ad Hoc Budget and Finance Committee

Bulgaria's National Assembly on Friday voted, 207-0 with one abstention from Continue the Change to form an Ad Hoc Committee on Budget and Finance. The legislature took a single vote on the formation and name list of the Committee on a motion by the Progressive Bulgaria Parliamentary Group.

The Committee consists of 24 MPs: thirteen of Progressive Bulgaria, four of GERB-UDF, two each of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Democratic Bulgaria, and Continue the Change, and one of Vazrazhdane.

Parliament mandated the Ad Hoc Committee to consider and draw up first- and second-reading reports on bills as a lead committee and reports on draft resolutions, reports of other institutions received at the National Assembly until the election of standing committees.

The National Assembly Chair will allocate bills, draft resolutions and reports to the Ad Hoc Committee depending on their subject matter until the election of standing committees.
