Dimitar Stoyanov has been proposed as Minister of Defence in the draft Cabinet of Rumen Radev. 

Dimitar Stoyanov was born in Svilengrad (Southern Bulgaria). Graduated from the Higher Air Force School in Dolna Mitropoli and the National Defence Academy in Sofia. Specialized at Maxwell Air Force College in Alabama. 

Held various command positions in the Air Force, from aircraft technician to chief of staff of a military unit. Held a number of senior State positions, including Chief Secretary to the President of Bulgaria, caretaker minister of defence, and secretary for security and defence in the President's Administration.

He has long-standing experience in defence, security and the management of military structures.
