site.btaOver 11,000 Participants Expected in Sofia Marathon as Early Bird Registration Closes April 30

Interest in the October 10-11 Wizz Air Sofia Marathon 2026 is great this year, with organizers expecting more than 11,000 participants from Bulgaria and abroad. Early Bird registration, with a EUR 20 fee, closes on April 30 on www.sofiamarathon.bg.

After April 30, registration fees will move to the next pricing tier.

Participants in the Wizz Air Sofia Marathon can choose between several race distances, each with a specific entry quota:

ASICS Marathon 42.195 km: 1,500 participants;
Address Run (Half Marathon) 21.1 km: 3,000 participants;
Garmin Run 10.550 km: 4,000 participants;
5 km FIB Mass Run: 2,000 participants;
Relay 2x21 km: 300 teams (600 participants in total).

For the first time this year, participants can track in real time the number of remaining places for each distance. The information is available directly on the registration page of the event's website. Once a distance reaches full capacity, registration for it will close automatically.

The event keeps strengthening its position as the largest city marathon in Bulgaria and the biggest sporting event in Sofia, attracting both professional athletes and thousands of amateur runners from around the world.
