Reacting to the statement of Interior Ministry's acting Secretary General Georgi Kandev that he had been pressured to step down,  Continue the Change (CC) leader Assen Vassilev wrote on Facebook: "Apparently, in Bulgaria, as soon as someone starts doing their job, they immediately try to frame them with false witnesses. The threats against Secretary General Kandev are absolutely scandalous."

"The immediate replacement of the Supreme Judicial Council and the purging of the judicial system of all the little people is the only way to achieve a prosperous, just, and European Bulgaria," Vassilev stated. His comment was accompanied by a photo of Kandev with the caption "#I won’t go home."

Earlier on Friday, Kandev posted a video message on Facebook in which he stated that he had “received a message to go home,” but he would not "bow to threats and backroom deals." He had been informed that people, including a person nicknamed "Kartofa" [The Potato], have given false testimony against him at the Sofia City Prosecution Office on Thursday.
