At its regular meeting on Wednesday, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria approved the fourth consecutive Mid-Term Programme for Development Assistance and Humanitarian Aid, covering the period 2025 – 2030. The document reaffirms Bulgaria’s role as a predictable and responsible donor within the European Union and the international community, adapting the country’s development cooperation and humanitarian aid policy to contemporary global challenges, the cabinet’s press service said.
Bulgaria’s Official Development Assistance will continue to focus primarily on regions with established historical and cultural ties, as well as areas of strategic importance to the country’s national interests and security, including the Western Balkans, the Eastern Partnership, the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia.
Humanitarian support will be directed primarily toward countries and regions with the potential to generate migration flows.
