Ability SPA is opening a new location in Varna, the brand’s management team told BTA. This is the company’s first expansion outside Burgas, where it has operated year-round for more than five years.
The Varna location follows the Burgas model, while adding wellness activities and new therapeutic services. The two cities are among the busiest tourist destinations on the Black Sea coast, creating consistent demand outside of the summer season, the Ability team said.
The Burgas spa centre, located in Hotel Bulgaria, was opened with the idea of combining classic spa treatments with a therapeutic and sports-oriented profile. It features a large swimming pool, jacuzzi, children’s pool, Finnish and herbal saunas, steam bath, salt room, and a modern fitness centre. Alongside relaxation services, the centre offers personal training, customized nutrition and workout plans, as well as training with electrostimulation suits - a format gaining popularity among professional athletes and people recovering from injuries.
The centre was founded by Petar Damyanov, a therapist with more than 20 years of experience and one of the few certified osteopathy specialists in Bulgaria. "Over the years, professional athletes, football and volleyball teams, as well as well-known individuals visiting the city for various events, have chosen us," Ability SPA said.
The centre offers classic, sports, aromatherapy, anti-cellulite, and lymphatic drainage massages, as well as foot reflexology. The treatments are suitable both for recovery and rehabilitation, as well as for relaxation.
In 2025, Ability’s Burgas location was awarded Best Spa Center at the Summer Bright Awards.
BTA presents news from certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centres in Bulgaria in its BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water feature. Their total number exceeds 200. The initiative, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism, is linked to Europe's leading health tourism event, the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, which will be held from May 11 to 13, 2026, in Varna, Sts. Constantine and Helena, Golden Sands, and Albena. BTA will be the event's main media partner.
