The Lazarka Ensemble in Munich, which is hosting the eleventh edition of the traveling festival Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance, announced a fundraising campaign on Facebook dedicated to the folk event.

“Help all Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance - together! Your donation helps us turn the festival into an unforgettable celebration for Bulgarians outside of Bulgaria! Far from home, there is a place where Bulgaria comes alive - in the rhythm of the horo, in the sound of the bagpipe, in that moment when thousands of Bulgarians join hands - and their hearts beat as one. But behind this magic lie not only love and dedication - there is also a great deal of effort, time, and resources. That is why we need your support! If folklore moves you, if you feel Bulgaria in your heart even far from home, if you believe that our traditions should live on all over the world - support us with a donation - every bit of help matters,” the ensemble stated.

The Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance travelling festival is organized by and for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria. The initiative was launched by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. More than 100 dance ensembles and over 4,000 guests are expected at the 11th edition in Munich in May. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is the official media partner of the event and will present all participants.
