BTA will publish the names of the top-of-the-list candidates of every party/coalition for all constituencies for the April 19 parliamentary elections. The information about the candidates is provided by the respective political entity, the candidates themselves and other official sources.

Ivaylo Naydenov is the top-of-the-list candidate of Bulgaria Can for Pernik’s 14th and Vratsa’s 6th multi-member constituencies, according to information on the websites of the Constituency Election Commissions in the two regions.

According to the biographical note Naydenov provided to BTA, he was born on 26 November 1987 in Teteven. He completed his secondary education in 2006 at the Aleko Konstantinov Foreign Language High School in Pravets with French and English. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Thermal and Nuclear Power Engineering from 2010, a master’s degree in Nuclear Power Engineering from 2013, and a doctorate in Nuclear Power Installations and Equipment from 2018, all from the Technical University of Sofia.

Naydenov has professional experience in electricity trading, energy management and industrial policies, as well as teaching experience at the Technical University of Sofia, the University of National and World Economy and Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. He is author and co-author of numerous scholarly and popular publications in the field of energy and received the Bulgarian Nuclear Society’s award for best young author of a scientific work in 2017.

He has specialisations in energy security and critical raw materials and is a certified energy auditor. He speaks English and French.
