The top candidate on the GERB–UDF list in Kyustendil, Hristo Terziyski, along with youth members of the local organization, coordinator Neli Tocheva, and PM candidates Mark Kyurkchiev and Polina Mileva, took part in a charitable initiative, “Books Heal,” the GERB-UDF press centre reported. During an Easter-themed concert and charity event, they supported the campaign by purchasing a painting from the charity exhibition and a book from a specially arranged bookstore.
The book was the classic novel “Les Miserables” by Victor Hugo, and the painting was created by the young artist Antonina Daria Skupien. “We hope that this gesture will help create a better environment for the youngest patients at the Kyustendil hospital,” said Hristo Terziyski.
The funds raised through the initiative will be directed toward creating reading corners and expanding the library collection in the pediatric department of the Dr. Nikola Vasilev General Hospital. Before the concert, the “Art Heals” exhibition was opened in the theater hall, featuring drawings by students from Prof. Marin Drinov Primary School and children from local kindergartens.
The campaign was organized by Prof. Marin Drinov Primary School, with the support of the Emanuil Popdimitrov Regional Library and the Asklepion 1998 Community Centre, and with backing from the Municipality of Kyustendil, Kyustendil General Hospital, and the Kyustendil Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
