Civilian and port infrastructure has been damaged as a result of a nighttime drone attack in the Odesa region, the chair of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, announced on his Telegram channel on Thursday.

"Odesa region was again attacked by enemy drones on civilian infrastructure. Residential buildings and the port area were hit. In the residential sector, the facade, roof, and glazing of a private residential building were damaged, and an unfinished building was destroyed. A fire broke out in a gas pipe in an apartment building," the Regional Governor's statement reads. He added that a fire broke out in the port area in Chornomorsk as a result of the impact with containers and four cars catching fire, and two hangars having been damaged. 

Bulgarians in Odesa Region number more than 150,000 and were the third largest population group in Ukraine in 2001, according to the official census. About 50,000 - 60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
