A QR code will be placed at every polling station to facilitate access to information on candidate lists for visually impaired voters, Deputy Minister of Electronic Governance Nikolay Minev said here on Monday. He was speaking at a briefing of the Coordination Council for the preparation of the April 19 parliamentary elections at the Council of Ministers.

Minev said a task had been set to find a solution enabling citizens to access information on candidate lists by district election commissions. According to him, the Ministry of e-Government of Bulgaria has chosen a different approach from that used so far in Burgas Municipality, deciding not to rely on audio files.

"A QR code will be placed at every polling station which, once scanned by a visually impaired citizen, will direct them to the website of the respective district election commission," Minev said.
