site.btaSofia Airport Announces Summer Schedule with Flights to New Destinations

Vasil Levski Sofia Airport will welcome the summer season with a new schedule, with 30 leading airlines connecting the city to 94 destinations, the Airport’s press centre reported on Friday.

The statement notes that the aim of the new summer schedule is to provide a broad and diverse route network that meets the needs of travellers both for business and leisure, as Sofia continues to establish itself as a key aviation hub in the region.

The airport reported that Bulgaria Air is launching a new route to Porto, Portugal, from April 9 with flights every Thursday and Sunday. Ryanair is expanding its network with new destinations – Lamezia Terme from March 29, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday; Marrakesh from March 30, Monday and Friday; and Turin from March 31, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.

The press centre added that Wizz Air continues to expand its network from Sofia with new routes: Rimini from March 29, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; Warsaw Chopin replacing Warsaw Modlin with flights from March 29, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday; Palma de Mallorca from March 31, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; Santander from March 31, Tuesday and Saturday; Lamezia Terme Tuesday and Saturday from March 29; Corfu from June 7, Tuesday and Sunday; Rhodes from July 3, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; Budapest from the beginning of July, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday; Palermo from July 4, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; Tirana from the beginning of July until September 5, three times weekly; Sharm el-Sheikh from July 5, Thursday and Sunday; and Hurghada from October 27, Tuesday and Saturday.

The airport also notes that SunExpress is enhancing its destinations with flights to Izmir from April 3, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and from May – also on Saturday.
