Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria's election campaign in Shumen (Northeastern Bulgaria) was opened at the Dramatic Puppet Theatre on Wednesday. Continue the Change Chair Assen Vassilev attended the event, at which the coalition’s list in the town was also presented.

Vassilev argued that "the full theatre hall means that at last Shumen is not afraid." “This is the best thing that can happen – for everyone to be able to decide freely what they want to do with their lives, what they want to do with their money, what they want to vote for, without being afraid that their business will be taken away, without being afraid that they will be dismissed, that they will not be given firewood or that an ambulance will not come when they need it. The most important thing is freedom and I am very glad that we have so many free people in Shumen today," he said.

"A few things have become clear to all Bulgarian citizens – the first is that Bulgaria is not a poor country," he commented. According to him, Bulgarians are no longer last in Europe and there is money for pensions, maternity benefits, and investments in municipalities and in the water supply and sewerage network. Vassilev pointed out that "for the first time since 2009 there is a real chance to cut off the head of the mafia."

The coalition's top-of-the-list candidate in Shumen Aylin Pehlivanova said that, in her opinion, more and more young people, ambitious professionals, and people who have already achieved success should enter politics and have the motivation to fight for the rights of all.
