President Iliana Iotova extended her greetings to Bulgarian Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the President’s press office announced on Friday.

“In today’s divided and conflict-ridden world, the tradition of Eid al-Fitr reminds us of the power of sharing, compassion, and a helping hand. It reminds us of the most valuable lesson from our ancestors - to live in peace and tolerance. A lesson we must pass on to our children,” the President noted in her greeting.

Iotova emphasized that Bulgaria is an example of a country and society where all ethnic groups and religious denominations live in harmony and share both their joys and their concerns.
