site.btaDraft Updated Methodology for Certifying Voting Machines Conformity Up for Public Consultation

Ahead of the April 19 snap parliamentary elections, the Ministry of Electronic Governance has published for public consultation a draft of an updated methodology for certifying conformity of the voting machines with the Election Code and the technical specification requirements, the Ministry said. The document was prepared jointly with the Bulgarian Institute of Metrology and the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization.

The Electronic Governance Ministry has updated the certification methodology with a focus on transparency, clarity and efficiency, the press release said. The changes clarify terminology, introduce a clearer allocation of responsibilities, and define measurable outcomes, contributing to a more predictable process and increased trust in machine voting.

The document is available for public consultation until March 20.
