Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said on Facebook on Friday the White House has published a Joint Statement for a Framework for an Agreement on Reciprocal, Fair, and Balanced Trade with North Macedonia.

According to North Macedonia's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timco Mucunski, through the agreement, the two countries intend to strengthen the bilateral economic relations.

Under the agreement, North Macedonia will eliminate customs duties for all US industrial and agricultural exports, while the US will maintain at 15% the reciprocal tariffs on originating goods of North Macedonia, and will also identify products to receive a zero tariff rate. In a video statement on his Facebook page, Mucunski said tariffs will be removed on key products.

"The statement sends a clear signal of a deepening strategic partnership and reaffirms the strong support [North] Macedonia enjoys from the United States. Through such steps, we strengthen the position of [North] Macedonia as a reliable and predictable partner, build a higher-standard economy, and enhance our international standing," Prime Minister Mickoski said on Facebook.
