There Is Such a People (TISP) Floor Leader Toshko Yordanov told journalists in Parliament on Wednesday that unfair elections await Bulgaria. He was commenting on the decision of President Iliana Iotova to nominate Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) Deputy Governor Andrey Gurov as candidate for caretaker prime minister.

"Unfair elections await us, controlled by a political party for which I have serious doubts that it is entangled in political and moral perversions," Yordanov said.

"The President chose to support the coalition of charlatans," Yordanov noted, adding that her choice of Gurov raises many questions. He asked whether there had been a prior agreement with what he described as "the coalition of charlatans", referring to the parliamentary group of Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB).

TISP MP Aleksandar Rashev noted that there is a legal issue concerning Andrey Gurov, and that he had been removed as Deputy Governor of the BNB by a decision of the BNB. He added that a complaint has been filed with the Supreme Administrative Court, which in turn has submitted a request for a preliminary ruling to the Court of Justice of the European Union.

"Imagine that incompatibility in Andrey Gurov’s position is established. Then we will find ourselves in a situation of having a caretaker prime minister who in fact has no right to hold the post. I do not know whether President Iliana Iotova has considered this issue, but if the case develops in that direction, we will end up in a deadlock," Rashev said.

In a post on his official Facebook profile, TISP leader Slavi Trifonov wrote that "after the nomination of Andrey Gurov as caretaker prime minister, it became unquestionably clear that the charlatans from Continue the Change–Democratic Bulgaria, who patronize and sponsor pedophilia in Bulgaria, will receive all power without elections. It is also clear that the presidential institution, which first created and then legitimized the party of the charlatans, has now entered into an agreement with them".

Trifonov added in his post that on this basis it is already evident that the caretaker cabinet will not be non-partisan or impartial and will fulfil what he described as CC-DB’s "most cherished desire" – elections with "their Interior Ministry". "What awaits us are unfair elections and a covering up of CC-DB’s links to the tragedy in Petrohan," Trifonov wrote.
