An exhibition by artist Yasen Ivanov will open at Vivacom Art Hall Gallery in Sofia on February 17, the host announced on Wednesday. The show will offer a visual dialogue between the primary impulse and the precise pictorial form, the gallery team added.

The project explores the animal as a shared motif, developed through two distinct artistic languages.

Yasen Ivanov is a contemporary artist based in Sofia whose practice is rooted in themes of identity, devotion, and transformation. He began his fine arts education at an early age with lessons in icon painting, continued with formal training in traditional printmaking, and gained professional experience in illustration and graphic design. The artist is known for two clearly distinguishable artistic approaches - hyperrealistic concepts set in minimalist environments, and expressive, colorful paintings that balance between realism and abstraction. His works have been exhibited in numerous galleries in Bulgaria and abroad, including Boomer Gallery (London), the Bulgarian Cultural Institute (Rome), and Ikar Gallery (Sofia), where he held a solo exhibition.
