Junior staff at the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) will share their digital knowledge and skills through training sessions for colleagues in the agency who wish to enhance their expertise in social media, the use of artificial intelligence, photo and video editing, and more. They will do that under a programme launched on Monday, aimed at encouraging BTA junior employees to conduct training and career activities in the agency.

The programme covers 25 junior reporters, editors and administrative staff members, each of whom is expected to choose a technological topic according to their own abilities.

BTA Director General Kiril Valchev said: “With the creation of the new programme for junior staff, we want to show that you are valued for your knowledge and fresh perspective on the development of BTA.”

The initiative builds on established practices at the BTA School and is the second targeted initiative introduced by the department. Three years ago, an introductory programme for new employees was created, lasting six months, which included mentoring for newly hired colleagues as well as employees with up to three years of experience in their specialty.

In total, 238 new employees have started work at BTA from April 3, 2023, to January 30, 2026. Forty-five of them have up to three years of experience in their specialty and are included in the intensive introductory training programme launched at the beginning of 2024, supported by 37 mentors. Over the entire period, the total number of mentors has reached 100.
