site.btaPleven Medical University to Open New Academic Year for Foreign Students on February 13
On February 13, Pleven Medical University will open the academic year 2025/2026 for the new intake of international students admitted to the English-language programmes in Medicine and Nursing, the university said on Monday.
Regular classes for over 300 students from 36 countries will begin on February 16, the said. Students from many countries will be welcomed, including India, Italy, Britain, Sweden, Germany, Turkiye, Pakistan, Nigeria, Japan, Canada, South Korea, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines. For the first time in the university's history, students from Morocco and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have been admitted.
The university was the first higher education institution in Bulgaria to introduce medical education in English for foreign students back in 1997. Since 2025, the university has also started training foreign students in the Nursing specialty.
