Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized the importance of dialogue in easing regional tensions during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement. This marks the second call between Fidan and Araghchi within 24 hours amid ongoing protests in Iran, which, according to the latest reports, have resulted in approximately 2,500 deaths. No details have been released regarding the topics discussed during their previous conversation.

Turkey and Iran share a 500-kilometer border, with three official crossing points.
