During a meeting between Bulgaria's outgoing Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and Greece's Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis that took place in Paris on Tuesday, Zhelyazkov was assured that the matter of the border blockade organized by protesting Greek farmers will be resolved in the coming days. The two leaders met as part of the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, the government press service reported.

Zhelyazkov said that the issue is important not only at the bilateral level but also concerns the normal functioning of European transport corridors, the common market, and the free movement of people and goods. He added: "This is an issue that is in the interest of Bulgarian carriers, but at the same time it is also in the interest of Greek industry and Greek farmers." He noted that both countries are part of the Schengen area. He concluded that the position of Bulgarian carriers is fair, which is why the government is working to defend it.
