Strong winds caused damage in 26 out of 28 regions across Bulgaria, with no injuries reported, the Interior Ministry's Fire Safety and Civil Protection Directorate said on Sunday.

Until 5:45 pm on Sunday, fire service teams responded to 159 weather-related incidents. No roads were closed and no residents were reported in distress.

The highest wind speeds were recorded in the northwestern region of Montana, where gusts reached 70 km/h in the morning before easing to 42 km/h by midday, according to the local hydrometeorological observatory.

A yellow code warning for strong winds is in force for much of the country on Monday.
