Approached by reporters in Nikolaevo (Central Bulgaria) on Satuday, Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov and leader of the BSP - United Left coalition said: "Everything we agreed on with our social partners and the public is included in the new draft state budget, so at this stage there is no reason to reconsider our participation in the Government." He underscored the BSP - United Left had stated that it would reconsider its participation in the Government if social benefits were not protected in the budget.

The Deputy Prime Minister also commented on the protests demanding the Government's resignation, noting that the coalition is listening to the protesters. "As you can see, most of the issues that caused this tension are reflected in the budget, and the Government's resignation is not on the agenda,"  he said.

When asked whether the BSP - United Left was ready for early elections, Zafirov replied that the topic of elections was always on the agenda in society and in politics. "We are always ready for elections, there is no reason to worry because everything we do is public and for the benefit of society," he said.

Zafirov pointed out that he was in Nikolaevo for the groundbreaking ceremony of a project to asphalt the main street and open a water pipeline, which solves a long-standing problem. "It is very important to know that for us, the most important thing is to have stability, predictability, and for the investment process in the country not to stop," he noted.
