Central Government Sub-sector Reports Deficit of BGN 423 Mln in October

In October 2025, the central government sub-sector reported revenues of BGN 5.258 billion and expenditures of BGN 5.681 billion, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday. This results in a deficit of BGN 423.290 million.

In the social security funds sub-sector, revenues amounted to BGN 3.173 billion and expenditures to BGN 3.102 billion.

In October last year, the central government sub-sector reported revenues of BGN 4.538 billion and expenditures of BGN 5.431 billion, while for the social security funds sub-sector the figures were BGN 2.759 billion in revenues and BGN 2.763 billion in expenditures.

In September 2025, the reported revenues of the central government were BGN 5.410 billion, and expenditures were BGN 6.141 billion. For the social security funds sub-sector, revenues amounted to BGN 3.159 billion, and expenditures to BGN 3.031 billion.

The data for the central government sub-sector are based on the monthly cash reports of budgetary units, as well as estimates of state-owned enterprises reclassified into the sub-sector, while the data for the social security funds subsector are based on the monthly cash reports of the National Social Security Institute and the National Health Insurance Fund.
