Politicians and experts will discuss issues related to defence and democracy at a forum in Sofia, the Center for the Study of Democracy said on Tuesday.

The conference, titled “Defence and Democracy Dialogue: Fortifying Freedom”, will be attended by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, the government press service reported.

The event will bring together policymakers, security experts, and civil society leaders to address the strategic decisions that will shape Europe’s next decade, the organizers said.

Topics on the agenda include whether NATO and regional formats such as the Three Seas Initiative can close the geostrategic gaps on Europe’s eastern flank, how to dismantle state capture networks, and how to safeguard civil society and accountability amid widespread corruption and disinformation.
