site.btaFire Damages 30 Hectares of Bobov Dol Solar Park

Around 30 hectares of the photovoltaic park at the Bobov Dol Thermal Power Plant were affected by a fire that broke out on September 4, the police in Kyustendil said.

Around 100 hectares of the park were saved, but the fire destroyed cables, inverters and photovoltaic panels. The cause is being investigated as part of pre-trial proceedings opened by police in Dupnitsa, with prosecutors also notified.

The fire broke out on September 4 near Palatovo village, in Dupnitsa Municipality, and was brought under control in about four hours by nine firefighting teams.
