The concessionaire of Burgas North Beach plans to build a zipline connecting the Sea Garden to the beach, creating a new tourist attraction for the city, Simeon Tsvetkov, a representative of the concessionaire company, told BTA on Friday.
He emphasized that visitors would be able to ride from a high point in the park directly to the shoreline. All required surveys and engineering studies have been completed, and the project was designed with the support of an international company specializing in such attractions, Tsvetkov noted. However, despite having an investor and a completed design, the project has been awaiting approval for nearly two years due to ongoing administrative procedures and consultations with multiple institutions.
Tsvetkov pointed out that the zipline is outside the historic core of the Sea Garden and questioned the requirement for additional heritage approvals. According to him, Burgas needs new attractions beyond traditional beach tourism, stressing that construction could begin immediately once the necessary permits are granted.
