Two Greek citizens were found dead in Hisarya (Central Bulgaria), the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Plovdiv said on Tuesday.

Both men were about 70 years old, with an initial examination not finding any signs of violence before death, which leads the police to assume that they died due to suffocation from a gas stove used for heating. Their bodies were found in a house in Hisarya, after a neighbour had called 112 to report that the men had not been seen for several days.

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated at the Hisarya Regional Directorate.
