"The approach I would like to take is of high expertise, rigorous compliance with the law and publicity," Environment Minister Julian Popov told MPs of the parliamentary environment committee. At Thursday's meeting he outlined the priorities and presented his two deputies, Nikolai Sindzhimov and Petar Dimitrov. He said that he is likely to have two more deputies.
The Minister said that he wants to make the work of the Executive Environment Agency more public.
There is an annual report which somehow gets lost, and it shows progress with regards to environment, which is very often overlooked, said Popov.
Deputy Environment Minister Sindzhimov said that Bulgaria has to fulfill its obligations with regards to waste management. By 2035, 10% of household waste should be disposed.
