site.btaTrakia University Conducts Free Medical Exams in Golemo Ostreni, Albania, until June 28


The Medical College at the Trakia University in Stara Zagora will conduct free medical examinations in the village of Golemo Ostreni in the Golloborde Region in Albania from June 26 to 28. The multidisciplinary examinations will have medical experts conduct blood sugar, cholesterol and uric acid tests, eye screening, measuring bone density and examining patients' vertebrae.
The Bulgarian team, led by Medical College Director Assoc. Prof. Pavlina Teneva, includes 19 people, amongst which eight teachers and seven students.
The region of Golloborde in Albania is home to a large Bulgarian minority, with the number of examined people expected to be about 400.
The examinations are organized in cooperation with the Bulgarian Embassy in Albania and the health centre in Golemo Ostreni. Such multidisciplinary examinations were also organized in Kukes in 2024, again with an emphasis on people of the Bulgarian minority in Albania.
