"In the present age of information, the responsibility of the media goes beyond disseminating news. The media are custodians of historical memory, of our cultural identity and our language, particularly for those fellow Bulgarians who live far from their home country," Stoyan Taslakov, Chair of the National Assembly Committee on Policies for Bulgarians Abroad, wrote in a greetings message to the 20th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media. The meeting is hosted by the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and opened in Sofia on Saturday.
