The meetings of the Bulgarian media are extremely useful because in this fast-paced, confused world, the role of journalists is very difficult. The topic that is set today, Media and Knowledge, is very important, said Yordanka Fandakova (GERB-UDF), chair of the Foreign Policy Committee in Parliament and former mayor of Sofia, told BTA before the opening of the 20th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media at the National Press Club of BTA.

In the confused world, knowledge is quite often displaced by the flow of words, and the journalist must bring out the content, to convey it concisely, because in hectic times people do not delve much, so the journalist’s role is extremely important, Fandakova added.

For me, Bulgarian media abroad are not just intermediaries, they are ambassadors of the Bulgarian language, culture, spirit, but also of the truth, she added and wished success to the initiative.
