The Nashentsi folklore group from San Bonifacio, Italy, will try to recreate a love which is not always joy and harmony, as love also brings pain, suffering and self-denial, choreographer Kalinka Georgieva told BTA. The group will take part in the 11th edition of the travelling folk festival Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance, which this year will be held from May 15 to 17 at BMW Park in Munich.
Georgieva noted that the inspiration for their dramatic dance plot is from The Inseparables by Pencho Slaveykov. "In it we saw the power and beauty of love, the impossible separation of these lovers who experience pure and deep affection, we saw the victory of love over the limitations and prejudices of society, of the family, we saw the faith of the Bulgarian people in immortal love," Georgieva commented.
"We are preparing for the festival with great desire and excitement. We are looking forward to our meetings with our old friends, as well as new acquaintances," she emphasized.
The travelling festival Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance is organized by and for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria. The initiative was launched by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. More than 100 dance ensembles and over 4,000 guests are expected at the 11th edition in Munich in May. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is the official media partner of the event and will present all participants.
